"Transportation/Logistics for ISS (international space station) and Beyond"

Main focus

Summer School 2002 - TorinoThe students made careful analysis of the current ISS transportation and logistics scenarios and then proposed improvements. Students were grouped into four teams studied transportation and logistics for the International Space Station and scenarios, which go beyond and are based on the ISS scenario. Each team is provided with a reference scenario that the members must analyze and conclude the space transportation with/and logistics. These studies also included the technical elements to fulfill these requirements. During this time there were lectures, team building, workshop and intercultural learning.

Who

Students from Belgium, France, Germany and Italy welcome speech DR. Calgaro, Turin Deputy Major, dr. Eckard Weinrich, General Delegate CVA, Prof. Ernesto Vallerani, President AIDAA, Dr. Tom Dealessandri, Turin Councillor. The panel held many prestigious members from AIDAA, ESA/EAC, SupAero-Toulouse, TU-Berlin/Aerospace Institute, University of Liège, ISSAT-Toulouse, ESA/HQ and Politecnico di Torino. The public was made aware of these projects when the final ceremony also held a press conference.

Cultural and social events of Torino

Along with formal intercultural learning, the students were encouraged to learn about how the dynamics of their roles affected the achievement of their common goal. To strengthen their communication skills, the students practiced English as a common language. The students shared experiences as they explored the city and its surroundings. There was a weekend enjoyed in the Langhe (Italy’s premier wine region), a weekend along the Orta Sea, student parties, concerts, city tour and free time in Turino.
